Warm weather threatens flooding

The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. said at 2:33 a.m. National Weather Service Doppler radar was tracking several bands of heavy snow across the region. Overall, there is a weakening trend occurring, it said.

Warm weather threatens flooding
Temperatures forecast into the 50s on Friday before a cooling trend hits the area this weekend could cause significant snowmelt and flooding into next week across portions of south Central Nebraska, according to the National Weather Service in Hastings.

National Weather Service Rain Gauge – Venus, Florida


At the beginning of each month, I drive down to Venus, Florida to download data from a National Weather Service rain gauge. I must also drain the inner cylinder if it collects over 10″ of rain. I mail the data chip to NWS Ruskin and they send it to the National Climatic Data Center.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the region, including Frederick County The advisory is set to go into effect at 9 p m this evening and remain until 9 a m Friday
