Snow forecast on BBC news, 8 February 2009
Our local BBC Points West News forecast snow and it certainly did exactly that! 8 and 9 February 2009, when we had some of the best weather I can remember since childhood. We didn’t have that much in Taunton but where I work in Bristol it was almost impossible to drive anywhere the next morning. The news presenters are David Garmston and Alex Lovell, the weather man is Ian Fergusson. Sorry the sound is a bit rubbish, I’m not very technical!

2009 Skywarn Recognition Day Austin / San Antonio Texas National Weather Service Office
Hams from Hill Country REACT, Chaparral Amateur Radio Club, Bexar Operators Group, Guadalupe Valley Amateur Radio Club and San Antonio Radio Club cooperated to staff the ham radios for 24 hours at the Austin / San Antonio Texas National Weather Service Office in New Braunfels, Texas. This year’s event was held December 4th and 5th, from 6PM CT Friday until 6pm CT Saturday. We made 361 contacts, of which 43 were other National Weather Service Offices participating in this National Skywarn Recognition Day event.
