Are professional baseball players anti-american because they oppose the new immigration laws in Arizona?

Question by Lamplighter: Are professional baseball players anti-american because they oppose the new immigration laws in Arizona?
Is that what Republicans think?

“The Major League Baseball players’ union issued a statement condemning the law. A congressman whose district includes Yankee Stadium wrote a letter to baseball commissioner Bud Selig urging him to pull the All-Star game from Phoenix. The World Boxing Council took a step to limit fights in Arizona.”

Q&A: What interests you about baseball that you would read but no one writes about?

Question by Mike W: What interests you about baseball that you would read but no one writes about?
Basically, I am looking for ideas of what people want to read about baseball that is not as mainstream news such as stuff from mlb.com and espn.com. Ideas I have had include profiling lesser-known players, etc.

If you have any input it would be great.

Answer by isawmarty
Honestly, anything NOT Yankees or Red Sox. It is pathetic that 90% of the network games are Yankees or Red Sox games anymore. There are great players out there who never get noticed because they aren’t a Yankee or a Red Sox player. Case in point: when Zack Greinke won the AL Cy Young last November I’m sure 99% of the people said, “Who the heck is THAT? He doesn’t play for the Yankees!” There are 30 teams, not two.

The great thing about baseball is the brotherhood it creates amongst people. People either love it or hate it. There is never an in between. When you talk about baseball it tells you what type of person they are. If you love baseball, you live for the big moments where everything matters not every second of the day. Baseball is something you fall in love and never stop. People like Sharon Collins of Kansas basketball have said that although he wasnt the best at baseball, it still is his favorite sport and he really misses it. It stays with you forever

Will a woman ever break the gender barrier in Major League Baseball?

Question by Phillies: 2010 Champs: Will a woman ever break the gender barrier in Major League Baseball?
Here is a very interesting article, and I think at the end, you have to ask, why not?

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Ai.F3jVg9d0c_RWs8FYcSvgRvLYF?slug=ap-redsox-knucklebuddies&prov=ap&type=lgns

Michael, that is the stupidest answer I could imagine being given. You completely ignore the fact that the DH exists. You’re a sexist idiot.

Best answer:

Answer by Michael
No. The article speaks about pitching, not about playing baseball. Women are physically unable to run as fast or hit as well as men.
